I never got to play Shinobido but it seemed like it evolved the Tenchu formula way more than the series ever did. I completed Shinobido for the PSP, but I didn't really enjoy Shinobido 2 for the VITA, felt that the formula became stale and repetitive. I've got Tenchu Z for the x360, and the PSP and Wii games too. Played Tenchu 2 but skipped Wrath of Heaven and Fatal Shadows since I never had a PS2 (but played the Wrath of Heaven multiplayer at a friend's house).
